美媒：中国在关键新兴技术领域已领先 美企是否能赶上

报道称，美国国防部也没有忽略人工智能的重要性。与前任卡特一样，美国国防部长詹姆斯·马蒂斯支持五角大楼设立国防创新试验小组，尽管共和党派国会议员要求将该项目并入国防部高级研究项目局。国防创新试验小组的总部设在硅谷，目标是要确保军方能够迅速适应并融合源自加利福尼亚州技术中心的创新。

报道称，在寻求强化自身人工智能实力的过程中，美国国防部注意到了中国在这一技术领域取得的进步。中国的巨大规模让它与像韩国或日本这样的其他技术创新力量迥然不同。考虑到这一点，马蒂斯将中国在技术领域的崛起作为他制定的国防战略的核心内容，强调美国政府有必要加强与新兴技术企业的关系，其中包括人工智能初创企业。
