23岁的艾比布拉·吾叔尔是南华大学临床医学专业大三的学生。他清晰地记得,17年前在潘玉莲的小课堂里,自己因为“上黑板”写不出来哭过鼻子,也是在那里,他学到了很多影响一生的品质。
“潘奶奶的那种坚持、真诚、和善,到现在都一直影响着我,让我想要去不断地改变自己,让我变得越来越好。”
每逢寒暑假,那些考学出去的孩子回到疏勒,总要赶紧回小课堂去看望潘玉莲。
“他们回来后教我英语,还跟我一起教课,会跟现在的娃娃讲很多自己的体会。”潘玉莲说起这些时一脸骄傲。
“下半场”人生 别样精彩
“爱心小课堂”改变了孩子们的命运,也开启了潘玉莲别样的人生。
年轻时不幸的婚姻,给潘玉莲留下一个儿子。为了养家,她把孩子丢给父母,外出打工,做过餐饮,跑过运输,甚至做过泥瓦匠输。1992年,打工的积蓄在一场意外中化为乌有,潘玉莲到老家。
50岁那年,潘玉莲的小课堂“开张”,开启了她的“下半场”人生。
25年,教与学,陪与伴,成为潘玉莲和孩子们之间微妙的彼此依赖。
为了教好娃娃,只读过高中一年级的潘玉莲开始了对自己的严要求。巴掌大小的本子扉页上,写着“每天背三首古诗”,里面抄录着古诗,随手翻开背诵、温习。这些年她一直坚持自学,读论语、学英语、偶尔还练练毛笔字。
有一次,她差点就放弃了小课堂。
1998年,潘玉莲收到一封邀请函。年少时,潘玉莲在学校系统学习过俄语,乌鲁木齐一所学校特意想聘她任教。邀请函言辞恳切,所开报酬可观。她清楚,这是改变困顿生活的机会,年纪再大一点,外面的世界就不再属于自己了。
经过一番思考和挣扎,潘玉莲来到乌鲁木齐。
很快,手机铃声不断响起,“潘奶奶你去哪里了?”“奶奶你家里怎么没人?”“奶奶今天我考了第一名……”电话那头是七嘴八舌稚嫩的声音,提醒着她遥远的地方有一群孩子需要她。
“我那时才发现,和孩子们在一起,才算是好生活,说什么我都要回去。”潘玉莲毅然辞职返回疏勒。
7年前的一天,潘玉莲坐在门前的小板凳上,等待着孩子们放学。远远地,看到孩子背着手走过来,脸上带着调皮的笑。走到她面前,刷地一下从背后拿出一大盒鲜花,齐声喊着“生日快乐”。
