央广网恩施8月3日消息据中国之声《新闻晚高峰》报道，家住湖北恩施巴东县清太坪镇樱桃水村的谭海波，上中学时因身患强直性脊柱炎而瘫痪，只能与轮椅为伴。但他并未向病魔屈服。这名31岁的瘫痪青年，坐在轮椅上在家里办起简易学堂，免费给留守儿童补习功课，至今已经坚持了5个年头。 谭海波的事迹经媒体报道后，感动了很多人。不久前，当地医院提出免费为他做手术。手术前的清晨，镇上的父老乡亲和他教过的学生们，自发赶来为他送行。其中一位男孩还坚持跟到医院，陪老师做手术。8个多小时的手术很顺利，经过一段时间的康复训练，谭海波就可以走路了。 手术后，谭海波感激地说，“身体康复后，我会把免费学堂办下去。今后，要更努力地教好每一个学生，回报社会。” 向身残志坚、无私奉献的师者谭海波致敬！
