随后，马英九、洪孟启、王桂花与匈牙利外交与贸易部国际文化科学交流司长IstvánÍJGYÁRTÓ、匈牙利劳动部国际及欧洲事务司副秘书长GergelyPRÖHLE、匈牙利贸易办事处代表JánosFerencALBERT共同启动了“飞向世界”的主题云朵启动仪式，宣布2016台北国际书展正式开始。

书展评选年度之书 马英九自费购书20本

源自法兰克福、莱比锡及波隆那书展精神的台北国际书展大奖已经评选了九届，今年从总共115个小说类作品和277个非小说类作品中评选出了各3本图书作为书展大奖年度之书。开幕式上，马英九为获奖者颁发了奖杯。以下为获奖名单：

小说类：王定国《敌人的樱花》（印刻出版）、甘耀明《邦查女孩》（宝瓶出版）、刘大任《当下四重奏》（印刻出版）

非小说类：詹宏志《旅行与读书》（新经典出版）、辛永胜&杨朝景《老屋颜》（马可波罗出版社）、詹正德《看电影的人》（一人出版）

开幕式后，马英九移步参观了城邦、三采、天下、时报、印刻、联合文学、九歌等多家出版社的展位，听取展位负责人的介绍和图书推荐。在台湾独立书店文化协会的展位上，马英九又谈到“文化部”将提携台湾独立书店以维持出版业能量；在联合文学出版社的展位上，则与出版编辑谈论起同志文学《说好一起老》、《树犹如此》，表示台湾在同志婚姻方面仍须努力。短短20余分钟里，除了接受了参展方赠送的13本书以外，马英九还自掏腰包花费8699元新台币（约人民币1710元）购书20本，其中包含他亲自颁奖的《敌人的樱花》与《当下四重奏》两本书。凤凰文化将这20本书进行汇总，排出了一份“马式书单”：
