2015年1月27日，安徽省芜湖市，交警潘志俊在市区两站广场执勤时，发现东侧联盛广场路段异常拥堵，便立即前往察看。步行至50米处后，潘志俊发现原来是一条电缆线半坠地面横跨在路中间，挡住了过往车辆的通行。考虑到多家公司难以在短时间内到场处置，而电信光缆可能没有断，不能被车辆碾压，否则后果不堪设想。小潘立即站上隔离花坛用手举着沉甸甸的电缆，并空出一只手来指挥过往的车辆有序通行，有大一点的车辆通过时，他就踮起脚举高电缆线。看到小潘举着电缆的动作越来越吃力，附近商户纷纷拿来扫帚、梯子、绳子等工具协助小潘。过往的不少车辆通过时，司机十分感动，不时鸣笛表示感谢。上午10时许，小潘和同事已经站在小雨中托举了2个半多小时，电缆管理单位施工抢修人员终于赶到，将垂落的电缆线进行了处理，使得道路恢复畅通，车辆正常通行。
