9月5日晚，浙江温州泰顺县仕阳镇沙丘村杨梅岭15号一楼的柴草房内闯入一条大蛇，并引起当地居民恐慌。由于蛇过于巨大，当地派出所及消防一时不敢擅自处理，只得安排附近居民暂时迁出家。到9月6日早上，泰顺县森林公安联系上当地一蛇养殖场的专家赶往现场，经过一个多小时的仔细抓捕，专家最终徒手将大蛇制服。经过称重，该蛇竟然达23斤，体长在3米多。
据有关专家指认并告诫市民，该蛇系眼镜王蛇，有非常强的毒性和攻击力，如果市民有遇到这类毒蛇，尽量远避。
