据海都网报道，3月19日晚上，一组老师体罚学生的图片被人发到网上，并迅速在微博及微信上流传、发酵。事件指泉州南安市金淘镇南光中学一名生管老师谢某：责罚两名学生蹲坐地上，并将双脚分别放在学生的后背上。在网络图片中看见：一名较胖的男子坐在椅子上玩着手机，赤脚分别放在两孩子的后背上。两名穿着校服的男孩，耷拉着脑袋，蹲在地板上，旁边还站满了围观的学生。经核实，事发的学校是南安市金淘镇南光中学。当晚10点多，南安市教育局发现这一情况后，连夜要求学校核实情况。在指责这名“老师”霸道、过分，尽数其人的斑斑劣迹等之余，也有网民辩驳，“这个老师还不错”，“可能是学生太过分”。
