【看守总理忙灭火】

美联社报道，这轮示威游行发生的时机颇为微妙。伊拉克今年5月举行议会选举，一些党派以选举存在舞弊和违规为由要求重新计票，最终计票结果迟迟没有出炉，使得组阁进程难以启动。

谋求连任的看守政府总理海德尔·阿巴迪13日飞赴巴士拉，试图平息这轮示威。他责成6名部长组成特别委员会，回应示威者的诉求。

阿巴迪要求当地石油国营公司向民众提供更多工作岗位，并承诺给一些水电市政工程紧急拨款。

不过示威者对中央政府的安抚似乎并不买账，示威游行没有要停止的迹象。

示威者莱斯·侯赛因的话反映了不少当地人的心声。他告诉美联社记者：“每年他们都作出相同承诺，但后来承诺都落空。”

伊拉克什叶派最高宗教领袖大阿亚图拉阿里·西斯塔尼13日发表讲话支持示威者，但告诫他们不要诉诸暴力。（王宏彬）（新华社专特稿）
