微软独占《除暴战警3》已经发售了，但和之前期待的不同，媒体对该作的评价非常低，权威媒体IGN也只给出了5分的评价。但Xbox掌门人菲尔·斯宾塞却不同，他在这个游戏中找到了触动点，借此怀念已故老友。之后他称该作非常有趣，但却遭网友强力嘲讽。

菲尔·斯宾塞：玩多了《除暴战警3》乐趣是很多，但是游戏不光给我带来乐趣还能让人感动，当我看到已故的游戏制作人Mike Forgey变成游戏探员时，我的思绪一下子集中了起来，这真是让人触动的瞬间，不用说了Mike Forgey是我必选的《除暴战警3》游戏探员。

MikeForgey此前曾在微软工作过，参与过《除暴战警2》和《中土世界：暗影魔多》的开发，后来他去了Monolith，在与脑癌进行了长达10个月的斗争之后，MikeForgey于2016年去世。为了纪念这位制作人，《中土世界：暗影魔多》的DLC还专门为他制作了一个角色。
