如今，健身已经成为一种潮流，但你知道它起源于什么时候吗？据英国《每日邮报》1月18日报道，近日，瑞典首都斯德哥尔摩的国家科学技术博物馆内一组维多利亚时期人们健身的图片流传网络，引起广泛关注。
据悉，这些健身器材由瑞典医生古斯塔夫•桑德尔(Gustav Zander)在1892年设计。他将体操动作进行简化，设计成了各种适合人们锻炼的器材。尽管一些看起来像是刑具，但每种器材都在训练身体的不同部位。其中的“马型”健身器就是今天腹部前屈机的前身。
与现在人们锻炼时轻装上阵不同的是，那时人们穿戴整齐。女士要和平常一样穿紧身内衣和包住脖子的裙子。男士要穿羊绒夹克、长裤和厚重靴子。
古斯塔夫医生在斯德哥尔摩藏有27件定制器材，形成史上第一个“健身房”。19世纪晚期，这些器材流传到美国，受到上层富商们的青睐，之后广泛流传开来。到20世纪70年代，亚瑟•琼斯(Arthur Jones)创办鹦鹉螺健身器械公司(Nautlius)，健身开始逐渐受到人们追捧。(实习编译：周慧敏 审稿：朱盈库)
