据香港《星岛日报》网站报道，25日晚，香港弥敦道天降“钻石”，导致行人疯抢。但经鉴证后，行内人表示该批“钻石”实为“苏联石”，100港元便买到10多粒，价值便宜，多用以制作首饰。
据报道，25日晚8时许，一批碎“钻石”突然从天而降，路人发现后争相蹲在地上寻宝。
记者26日将从地上拾获、比一角硬币还要小得多的“碎钻石”带往附近珠宝店查询，经鉴证后行内人表示“碎钻石”实为“苏联石”，多用作造首饰，价格相当廉宜，港币100元便可买10多粒。
报道说，26日早事发街道的渠盖上，仍散满“钻石”，但已无人问津，未见有人如25日般争相蹲在地上“寻宝”。
