10月6日，安徽省铜陵市一自助餐厅国庆假期开业，向全市居民免费派送5天的就餐券，市民凭就餐券可以免费就餐一次。中午时分，现场就餐的市民挤爆大门，场面极为混乱，几十名保安现场维护秩序，防止踩踏等群体事件的发生。
部分市民不仅用盘子直接哄抢食品，更是一次带走4、5盘。比毫无秩序地疯狂更糟糕的是，就餐结束后很多食物都没吃完，浪费惊人。
