18日15时20分许，在三峡大坝上游海拔150.5米的“高峡平湖”上，“长江三峡9号”游轮沿着引航道缓缓驶入三峡升船机承船厢，开启了三峡升船机首次试通航之旅。 15时50分许，承船厢载着水和游轮开始垂直下行，大约8分钟后就与下游海拔65.2米的江面齐平。 不一会儿，游轮缓缓驶出承船厢，到达下游江面。
