9月9日，2017中国国际壁球挑战赛组委会在京举办新闻发布会，宣布“2017中国国际壁球挑战赛”将于9月13日在北京首都体育馆壁球馆正式开战，赛程共4天。
今年，“中国国际壁球挑战赛”已经是第三届，该赛事是壁球运动在中国的最高级别赛事之一（B级赛事，亚运会、奥运会此等规模和影响力的为A级赛事）。
据组委会介绍，本届挑战赛吸引了来自中国、中国香港、荷兰、比利时、韩国、马来西亚、埃及、印度8个国家和地区的顶尖运动员参加，邀请了中国著名的专业裁判亲临现场为本届大赛执裁，最终将角逐出冠亚军各一名，赛事规模得以进一步扩大，赛事水平也有望进一步提高。
2017中国国际壁球挑战赛由国家体育总局小球运动管理中心、北京市体育局和中国壁球协会联合主办，踏步（北京）体育赛事有限公司独家承办，潘高寿、吉利汽车、王老吉等知名品牌提供全程赞助，本届赛事与世界职业壁球员联合会合作，世界职业壁球员联合会官网将对本届赛事进行全程播报，参赛运动员会获得相应世界排名积分，赛程如下：
